An interview cannot be prepared by questions alone.
Your DAF, education, work, home state, hobbies, choices, achievements, setbacks and opinions can all become starting points for an interview. That is why Interview Edge does not begin by handing you a list of probable questions.
It begins by understanding you.
The objective is not to manufacture polished answers. It is to help you recognise your interview universe, think with greater clarity, respond with judgement and remain authentic under questioning.
Interview Edge Studio. Know your profile. Find your own voice.
Practise for the UPSC Personality Test from your own DAF, at any hour, between your mock interviews. Built on the method of Guranchal Ma’am, Founder, UPSC Gurus, and the six free Interview Edge books.

Why candidates who already have mocks use it
- Your DAF, connectedIt identifies the threads linking your DAF entries and reveals the central question your profile builds towards.
- Beyond the first questionEvery category maps follow-up chains, helping you practise the second and third questions, not just the first.
- Your words, refinedThe Answer Builder strengthens your own response, identifies what is missing and offers a reusable structure without imposing a script.
- Know what to prioritiseLikeliest questions and the three fields to prepare first are clearly marked, helping you focus your limited preparation time.
- Situations from your servicePractise realistic posting dilemmas tailored to your top three service preferences, including the traps that weaken an answer.
- Facts without guessworkWhere precise figures matter, the tool assigns a research task instead of inventing numbers you might quote during your interview.
How to use it
- Complete your profile once, following your DAF. Short phrases are enough.
- Start with the DAF Assistant. Focus first on the three fields marked “prepare first”.
- Generate your Question Bank in two parts. Note the questions marked “likely” and those that make you pause.
- Tap “Practise” beside a difficult question. Say your answer aloud, then type or speak it into the Answer Builder.
- Review the feedback. Add what is missing in your own words, then revisit the question on another day.
- Use Situation and Ethics Practice for judgement questions. Spread your 30 sessions across the coming weeks.

A preparation shaped around you
Depending on where you are in your preparation, your Interview Edge journey may include some or all of the following.
Begin with what the Board may see
We begin with the material the Board may see: your DAF or relevant profile information. The objective is to identify the people, places, experiences, choices and subjects that can open meaningful lines of questioning.
The exact form of support varies by examination and stage of the application process.
Understand the candidate before preparing the interview
A deep one-to-one online conversation with Guranchal Ma’am that goes beyond probable questions. The aim is to understand the interview universe behind your DAF, and identify where your preparation needs depth, clarity, balance or greater authenticity.
Sustained questioning, as in the real Board
Experience sustained questioning before members of the UPSC Gurus Senior Officers’ Panel together with Guranchal Ma’am. The mock examines not merely what you know, but how you listen, reason, balance competing considerations, communicate and respond when the conversation moves beyond prepared territory.
The mock is not the end of preparation
Guranchal Ma’am works with you again to identify what changed, what still requires attention and what should be refined before the actual interview. Questions, articulation, judgement, recurring weaknesses and final priorities can all be addressed here.
Interview Edge is personalised. Candidates may require different parts of the process depending on their preparation stage and interview timeline.

Profiling is personally led by Guranchal Ma’am
Before preparing a candidate’s answers, we need to understand the candidate.
Guranchal Ma’am personally leads the Profiling and Refinement process and participates in Interview Edge mock boards.
Her role is not simply to generate questions. It is to identify the connections, contradictions, strengths and vulnerabilities within a candidate’s profile, and help the candidate develop greater clarity, judgement and authenticity before the Board.
We built UPSC Gurus because I believed every aspirant deserves preparation that sees them as an individual, not as one of a batch. That belief is in every program, every session, every evaluation we give.
Prepare before people who have seen administration from the inside.
Interview Edge brings candidates before experienced senior officers from different services and areas of public administration. Panel composition varies depending on availability and the requirements of the candidate.
